Green Carpool Bench in Erkner

During the training camp in Erkner, a carpool bench was prioritized. It was planned to implement the carpool bench as a temporary solution within 8 weeks.

On July 14, 2023, engaged citizens inaugurated a carpool bench at the train station square. This is a bench where adults can sit and signal that they are waiting for a free, spontaneous carpool. Since the train station square is frequently visited by pick-up and drop-off traffic, and public transportation does not always reach everyone’s destination, this bench is intended to be a supplement for citizens by citizens.

The bench currently standing at the train station square is initially a temporary carpool bench. The goal of the citizens is to set up a permanent bench, which will also be planted with greenery and provide shade for those waiting. First, we want to understand how the service is received and what adjustments might be needed.
