Since October 2020, the “Stadtparkfreunde” (City Park Friends) group has been active, consisting of residents of Boizenburg who are eager and happy to contribute to the park in various ways. They have been successful in their efforts, and on March 31, 2022, a significant milestone was reached when Deutschlandfunk reported on them under the title “Small-Town Strategies Against Climate Change.”

This project started during the “GemeinsamSuchTage 2020” (TogetherSearch Days 2020) and is inspired by the many favorite spots marked on the online map. The PLATZ-B platform supports the group in realizing their ideas.

A comprehensive concept for the city park was developed in collaboration with students from the University of Sustainable Development in Eberswalde. This included activities like a winter rally, photo safaris, and tree mapping.

In the meantime, two action guides have been created for the park: one for citizens who wish to get involved and one for the administration. Various cleaning and planting actions in the city park have already begun to give the park a new look.

After two years of joint activities, the Stadtparkfreunde signed a sponsorship agreement with the city of Boizenburg/Elbe in March 2022.
